Kerala Emergency Medical
Services is a charitable project developed to provide immediate,
on-scene and en-route Emergency medical care to accident and
other emergency victims across the state regardless of their
ability to pay. This is the result of an initiative adopted
by the association of Kerala Meical graduates (A.K.M.G), a
charitable organization in U.S.A. of doctors of Kerala origin
in America.
The project is being designed, developed and implemented
through the Indian Institute of Emergency Medical Services
(I.I.E.M.S.), a registered charitable trust with its head
office in Kottayam.
In this venture, we are assisted by various other organizations
such as the World Malayalee Council (WMC), Federation of
Kerala Association of North America (F.O.K.A.N.A), Non-
Resident Keralites Affairs of North America (N.O.R.K.A.N.A),
the five Lions Club districts of Kerala and the district
Number 3210.
One of the most important requirement for the smooth operation
of the project and its success is a single four digit telephone
number that can be used to access our central call center
from anywhere in the state 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The number has to be simple, easy to remember and usable
even by children or very elderly who might need immediate
help. Moreover, there should not be multiple numbers allocated
or advertised for this access so as to avoid confusion and
consternation to the public who would wish to use our free
service.
